I drink this pink bismuth
each morning – my gut
rots the fallen walnuts
in the yard – rain follows
rain as my wait for baseball's
game continues – my
wife calls brings more
Narragansett – this could
be the late 1970's
it's 2005 what a fine
name for a year James
Schuyler once said
about 1968 – Caroline
said Schuyler removes
all cant from contemporary
poetry – to me she says
I can't stand those who
dislike art – it takes shapes
for things to fit – try to
stop comparing myself
to others – would money
solve our problems – pay
our debts – so we'd have
the rhino of our dreams
