my heart is breaking and opening and breaking
(March 2003)
and opening and it is full of shame and joy and shame
and joy and I keep living and there is a war and I keep living
and there is a war and I love you and I am afraid and I love you
and I am afraid and my heart is breaking
and my heart is opening and it's ok to feel joy
and there is a war and it's ok to still feel joy
and there is a war and I am full of shame
and I am full of joy and life must go on and there is a war
and it's good that life still goes on and there is a war
and life is supposed to go on but there is a war
and my heart is breaking and my heart is opening
and I break to feel life and I open in war and for that I feel shame
but I see in war I see more what life is
and I hold a torch and there is war
and I keep life going in war and I still feel joy
I see more what life is and I feel love surviving in me
and I feel my heart breaking in war
