A Monologue for Voices: “I have a lot of things to do.”

I have a lot of things to do.
(I have a headache.)

I put down “a headache.”
(I have to do a lot of things.)

I do a lot of things.
(I do only one person.)

Places do not get done; places are places.
(Though some “do the place thing.”)

Most things have been done before.
(Like this.)

Like that.
(Possession, on the other hand, has to do with actions.)

I have many activities to do.
(Put down “writing.”)

Done.
(Last night we played guitars.)

Last night we each played our guitars at the same time.
(Last night we played our guitars simultaneously.)

Sometimes she played her guitar at the same time that I played mine.
(We played the same chords.)
-Exactly the same time.-

Sometimes at the same time.
(It was an activity.)

For only a part of last night did she and I each play a guitar at the same time.
(I remember.)

She said “then you act like a know-it-all.”
(We talked about doing more things together.)

We talked about what it meant to play guitar.
(We were both angry at something.)

I am writing about “memories.”
(The candle rests until I light it.)

Remembering is not on my list.
(We see the sun in everything.)

It is the sun we are always seeing.
(This morning I did her.)

I am back to “doing.”
(Her back was to the doing.)

I have returned.
(All the things I have to do.)

I remember that the spoon was once in the cup.
(I have many memories.)

I do not know until I use it.
(I am in a dead end.)

I do not want to write about “I” so much.
(Light makes water visible.)

The visibility can be qualified by a percentage.
(The visible range describes a field.)

Binoculars might hang off the rear-view of a Range Rover.
(The car does not have the binoculars.)

The binoculars are in the car.
(She told me why she was angry and left.)

I have to go to the bathroom.
(When she came back, she quickly left again.)

She told me, left, and then returned briefly.
(I have to go in the bathroom.)

Very little time passed.
(Once a hummingbird mistook my penis for a flower.)
