It's Buster Keaton's responsibility

I, Buster Keaton, stagy little tiger
who loves this thing about being a pediatrician
who could have read my poems
twenty-four for every acre of virgin film
on the same day & in the same place
where Jack Johnson went to his labor.
I, solemn blackbird of the Empire State
victorious engineer with soul
victorious engineer with soul
victorious engineer with soul
I ask my Cuban colleagues that in choirs
no one try to differentiate his voice from the others
and that you sew flawlessly   cut for yourselves shirts
of Carmelite carpet from the universities,
twenty-four for every acre of virgin film.
