The Word, Light
The word light comes from Anglo Saxon leoht. It gives little or no idea for analysis, excepting that the literate form of the word light is of greater literate value and virtue than the rudimental leoht.
The word light is a universal word turning in all directions, or in four parts of speech:As a verb, it means to illuminate.
As an adjective, it means bright; full of light.
As an adverb, it means lightly; brightly.
As a noun, it means many literal and figurative, physical and metaphysical things. The highest and most literate concept of light is that one which the sun or sol presents to Earthlings, or from the Earth's point of view. The sun at noonday is brightness itself, and the absence of that light is darkness, according to the literate sense of things, the literal sense and the physical perception or sense of things. The sun therefore is the highest humanly comprehensible figure from which to draw a highly figurative sense of light. It is the most familiar material figure from which to deduce and introduce the metaphorical or metaphysical sense of light and the source of soul-light.
This treatise deals with words as words. The sun, sol or solar light is treated exhaustively by the natural or physical sciences. This may be called natural light. This treatise does not undertake to inform its readers on any point concerning artificial light or other classifications of the various causes, sources, effects or phenomena attributable to these.
This treatise begins with The Word or The Logos as Source and Cause of highest metaphysical sense of light or enlightenment; as Creator and creative Beginning; as Origin of logical and literate light, discernment, wisdom or the spiritual seer.
In the universe of Soul, light is derived from Soul. The Logos-Soul emits light to the ear of understanding, even as the sun (sol) emits light to the Earth (the ear-th). As the sun is the only giver of light to Earth, so Soul is the sole and only Giver of light or divine enlightenment (ideas, essential realities or sustantial verities) to the ear and eye of the discerning thinker who witnesses to what he sees. Thus the thinker may be fully enlightened and wholly mindful of the logic of The Logos and the literacy of The Word.
The following table will classify the degrees of light:
Realm I
DIVINITY: The Word emitting words of wisdom; The Logos from which all true, real, pure and genuine logic emanates or issues forth.
Realm II
SPIRITUALITY: the realm of spiritual enlightenment; the sphere of universal vision; the thinker discerning all things in highest degree of direct light.
Realm II
MORALITY: the realm of moral enlightenment, or light reflected from Realm II (not direct from Realm I). Here the thinker observes the science of con-science which is reflected or re-emitted from Realm II logic and wisdom.
This realm enjoys the logical and literate light which is redirected, reiterated, replenished and reideated by the thinker of Realm II. It enjoys the honor and glory of honesty which is a lesser form of spiritual potency--the moral version of power. It has loyalty, fidelity, faith, courage and confidence which are the lesser forms of Realm II discernment.
This moral realm exists as the morally enlightened; as the morally correct and accurate thinker; as the science and art of right reasoning which he deduces from the reflected logic of Realm II.
This moral realm is of lower degree of light intensity than Realm II.
The brilliant light of Realm I is of no use to this realm. It would only dazzle and bewilder (daze or confuse) rather than instruct. It has infinite power of illumination, whereas this realm has capacity to utilize the light which conscience brings from soul, or which moral intuition brings from wisdom.Realm IV
PHYSICALITY: the realm of human learning, knowledge, or intellect which teaches what light is.
Realm V
IMMORALITY: the realm of human darkness where the light rays of soul (conscience) cannot obtrude or intrude; the realm of contradiction or denial of light, in its moral-spiritual meanings.
Light, originating in The Logos-Soul, reaches Earth (ear-th or the human ear) only in the degree that the human eye enjoys inward, soul-vision to see it, and only in as much as the human eye is opened to discern or to differentiate between what soul presents and what human intellect presents.
The human discernment of Realm III is torn between the evident realities which Realm IV presents--as enlightenment--and the spiritually scientific enlightenment--and the spiritually scientific enlightenment which conscience presents as coming from wisdom or soul in Realm II. But there is a gradual lofting or lifting of hope which tends to look upward (heavenward) for light of the continual sort--the soul sort--and as Realm III looks upward to wisdom for vision, to the spiritual entity (soul) for light, it sees all things in a better, wiser and more essential light.
It is evident that a clear conscience is a most essential factor in clear thinking. Justic, equity, compassion, meekness, kindness, sincerity and such virtues are like a flame (a living, burning flame) of moral light and energy. They are candid lights lighting the way. They are splendid things or qualities reflecting their moral splendor. These human virtues or worthy qualities are alight and alive with the vital science of conscience. They are moral integers who are sagacious, moral lens, the moral instinct, intuition, sense or sentiment. This lens is conscience. This lens magnifies the elements of soul and clarifies the atmosphere of soul for the conscientious one who aspires to rise beyond and above the human horizon, to peer into the realm or atmosphere of wisdom.
Wisdom comes forth from Soul in a direct line, even as a sunbeam comes forth from the sun in a direct line. The light of Soul or the direct light of wisdom (soul) is of such divine brilliance as to be dazzling to the eye of humanhood, even as the direct light of the sun is dazzling to the eye of humanhood, and must therefore be reduced to lower degrees of intensity or brilliance, in order to be morally practicable to humanhood.
The infinite power of enlightenment belongs to The Logos-Soul who, as God, is creator of light, and Who, as The Word is illuminator and giver of light, which light takes form in understanding, in spiritual substance or under-stanc-ing; takes form in wisdom, in the powers of ideation (perception and conception), reflection, fruition, and expression.
The thinker of Realm II presents all of the essential elements of reality and all of the powers of essential and substantial realization; all of the faculties for the full utilization of infinite Soul light. This thinker thinks or discerns in highest degree of light, for he is a soul entity reflector, reflecting the Realm II light to Realm III. This thinker perceives in highest degree of spiritual light, direct light or radiant energy. He thinks, reflects and conceives by the divine noonday sun, irradiated through the logic and literacy and law principles of The Logos; through the brilliance of The Word.
Wisdom represents this spiritual seer, this fully enlightened and brilliant thinker, wholly mindful of himself as soul--thinking in the radiant light of Soul. Wisdom's power of re-illumination serves to teach Realm III.
The moral thinker of Realm III enjoys morally radiant energy in the form of faith, confidence, fidelity, hope or moral prosperity and expectancy. He radiates affection, patience, humanity, modesty, compassion, trustworthiness and all such virtues that make him the moral seer and sage.
The moral thinker's conscience is his radiant light within, teaching him as master of moral science and law.
The immoral realm is impervious to moral light. It is environed with a moral opaqueness which best suits its beclouded, unconscientious or soulless mentality; best suits its contradictory and wholly darkened, sensual, material personality.
Light or spiritual enlightenment typifies the day of The Logos and the spiritual logician; the day of divine brilliance or universal light and literacy wherein is no spiritual ignorance or moral night doubting and contradicting soul.
